"My shadows (Mis sombras)"

There can not be sounds without silences, the top without the bottom, and the lights without the shadows. In my life, there have been more enlightened moments than those of darkness, but time makes things blurred and distant. Thanks to the photographs, we managed to keep the memories from erasing, to continue to linger inside us. How sad is the life of the sick who are losing all their memory or, as it were, the whole experience of life.

From a young age I realized that to reach old age and maintain the illusion for life, I had to fill it with evocations. It is not wrong, in the way, to fill it with material things, but if we are not capable of valuing and keeping alive the path in life until reaching the last stretch, nothing will make sense and the grief and boredom will take over old age.

Today, looking at pictures of the past, the figure of my mother was illuminated in the shade. I think I'm going to dedicate the day to her. She deserves it. I will stay at home perpetuating the memories I have and that I do not want to be lost in the darkness of oblivion. Today, I saw her photo, I want to remember it as it was and not with the distortions that the passage of time causes. Today I just want to be with my mother and everything I could learn from her.
