"The railway track is cut (La vía está cortada)"

Last night, for the umpteenth time, the image of a railway track appeared in my bed thoughts. It not become a dream since it always appeared while I was awake. I like it a lot and it gives me great peace, but when I walk through it, I end up coming to a space where the abundant vegetation blocks my steps and stops my route. And that's what I had left to tell my confessions friend that evening at dinner. I need to clarify that I want to tell myself with that recurring image.

She is more reflective and knows about life than I do and, this is the reason, she sees things more clearly. "Obvious," she tells me, that the railroad track is the road I follow in life and runs along paths full of vegetation and being away from the city. This can represent my desire for freedom. I don’t look very wrong. She continues telling me that if the railroad track is cut I want to say that this is not the way, that I don’t go there, that I have to take another route. How strange if I like this way. The conversation ended in which I had to discover because I am represented the end of a road that I like.

I went home and, after the shower, I got into bed with the image of the lane in my head. If the road I love, because I want it cut? I could not find an explanation. After a few days, I was turning my head until one afternoon, at work, I realized that my life was too linear, too programmed. My passage was too much for rails. I told my friend by phone and said me that she had also thought that the old way, symbolized the past. Did that mean we had to close the way of the past? Was I telling myself that I had to change my lifestyle? We stayed for coffee and returned to confront our thoughts. We come to agree on everything: I shouldn’t walking my monotonous life that doesn’t let me leave the established rails, even if I have no future.

That night didn’t return the photo to my head, which surprised me and I fell asleep almost without thinking about it. In the morning, I woke up and remembered a dream in which I ran in a meadow where there were no roads and the forest, around, was plenty of light. Today, after work, I will go to the theatre and, during the weekend, I will seek paths to freedom because I have been told a dream.
